Jujutsu, Judo, Iaido, Kendo and Jodo

These are the classes taught at the Craigieburn Martial Arts Centre (CMAC). The centre is located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and services the surrounding suburbs of Roxburgh Park, Epping, Mill Park, Meadow Heights, Broadmeadows, Glenroy, Pascoe Vale, Greenvale, Donnybrook, Beveridge and Wallan.

Our classes are taught within the framework of the traditional values of the Samurai warriors of old Japan.
These include: Respect, Honesty, Integrity, Humility and Courage
The Craigieburn martial art school first opened in 1992 at the Craigieburn Leisure Centre. We moved to our new full time Martial Arts Centre in 2015 and had our official opening in August 2016 that was attended by the Mayor of Hume.

CMAC is a purpose built Dojo (martial art centre) with Jujutsu and Judo classes on the ground floor and with Iaido, Jodo, Kendo and Japanese language classes upstairs. The tatami (mats) on the ground floor are placed upon a specially designed sprung floor to reduce impact. The upstairs wooden floor is made of bamboo with a rubber underlay to also reduce impact.

It is our vision to bring a piece of traditional Japan to Craigieburn and the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The Dojo is fitted out in the style of a traditional Japanese Dojo. There is a small shop with special Japanese items for sale that we have acquired from our years of travel to Japan.

The principle instructors are Kevin and Leanne Walsh who have been involved in martial arts for the past 40+ years. During that time they have been instructors at martial art schools in Heidelberg, Macleod, Kensington, North Melbourne, Carlton and Craigieburn. They also regularly travel to Japan for training and Europe to teach at seminars and training.
